I still can't quite pull the trigger on Maryland as a 1 yet but I can see how someone could. Excellent per usual buddy

Yeah they don't have the wins of an Iowa or Virginia, but I always harken back to the 2007 Florida team. That 2007 team didn't have the signature wins of other 1 seed contenders but the committee just thought they were the best team(which aligned with the polls). MD sits at #2 now. This is kind of the precedent I'm going with here and my rational. As always I try to emulate what the committee will do not what I would do.

Makes sense. I'd have a hard time comparing those 2 teams only because 07 Florida was the defending champ with the majority of people back. Maryland was a good team last year but not a great one. The Terps are going to have to win the B10 abd at least maje the title game in the B10 tourney to get a 1 seed I think

Oh yeah, I'm not comparing them as teams, rather just their placement in the polls. That Florida team would smoke this MD team for sure. Also part of my reasoning is that they project to be the B1G winner(tied w/record, best RPI is what I used in this case) But yeah they don't have really any margin for error, given the lack of wins.

Yeah lol you can't compare teams head to head from years passed. This year sucks ass.

But the situations are comparable like you said. I think Maryland would probably get a 1 seed right now.

Something I like about CBB is that they rarely bump teams up unless the numbers support it. I'd be OK with Maryland at a 1 because they're good enough to warrant it but the numbers probably aren't going to support it so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

They'll be a 3 seed now after the big L at home.

Huge wins by Bama, Michigan, Wisconsin and it looks like Texas Tech will win @ Baylor.

GW, Butler, Washington, Wichita State and Florida all with missed opportunities.

Big finish coming with Tulsa/UConn.

Given losses by both USC's last night and tonight. Duke certainly moves ahead of them. Might even have a case for Purdue's spot on the four line. Assuming Texas loses to ISU and doesn't take it themselves.

Iowa would take MD's #1 spot. OU still has a #1 resume IMO. Especially with Oregon and UVA losing today.

Washington is out and so is Butler.

I didn't have Washington in the field prior to today anyways. GW losing to St Bonaventure is more damning than losing to Xavier. Although St. Bonaventure is having a really good year. And is a fringe bubble team themselves now.

Also doing this exercise for the 5th straight year, this is the best looking 12/13/14 seeds I can remember in terms of the one bid leagues. If conf tournies don't water down the field we could see some big time upsets.

I saud this yo my buddy the other night. I think we could see 6-8 11-15 seeds win this year
