UMHB's 2016 National Championship Vacated by NCAA

The infractions occurred when head coach Pete Fredenburg loaned his 2006 Subaru to student-athletes. The incident occurred once prior and once during the 2016 season, and again during the 2017 season. The school also self-reported that Fredenburg loaned the car to another student for less than an hour before the car broke down and was towed. The loan violated the NCAA's rules on impermissable benefits and head coach responsibility.

That's bad news. But the coach should have known better. Loaning the vehicle for a quick errand or two could be overlooked, but letting him use it for two years is a definite violation. I feel bad for the team & the school, but that's just outright stupidity.

I get your point, but the idea of vacating wins is fucking stupid as is. Suspensions, loss of scholarships, post season ban, whatever.... all of that makes sense, but "removing" wins, titles, etc... is just nonsense. The games were played and I doubt loaning a car had anything to do with them winning.

I don't understand what you mean here. Yes, I know that the NCAA does these things, I just happen to think they are retarded. As I said, the games were already played, you ask any college football fan and they will tell you that USC won the national title despite what the NCAA says.

So they need to knock this nonsense off with "vacating wins" and "titles/championships".
