If UCLA lost, ASU won and Utah Won, ASU would have won the South. In a 3 way tie, UCLA would be the first eliminated and then ASU would have won a Head to Head with Utah.

ASU needed Utah to win to have a chance at the South.

This is great, if UCLA loses its next two games vs USC and Oregon/Stanford they will not go to a Bowl!!!!!! At 6-7 Bowls must take all 6-6 teams first, and Then they still need a wavier from the NCAA.

If Utah or ASU won the South, 6-6 UCLA goes to a bowl.
Pac 12 South Champs UCLA at 6-7 does not go to a bowl.

This makes the CCG much tougher for whoever plays UCLA. For them its Rose Bowl or Toilet Bowl...

Not that I expect a UCLA/Oregon game to even be competitive, but can you imagine UCLA in the Rose Bowl? The Pac-12 would be the laughing stock of college football.
