Liked Utah earlier, but now that threat of snow has passed I'm going UCLA on a straight up.

Spread went from UCLA -4 to -6 once weather got a bit more reliable.

Game time temps mid 40's. 12-14 mph winds.

It does. Seen it many times.

Problem is the temps will be in the "mid" to "upper" 40's during the game (not low 40's) as was forecast Monday.

Even if the temps were to get to the low 40's, you would need some precip for snow. :L They don't have that either.

On concrete yes.

On grass if it's snowing at a good enough rate it will start to accumulate.

Concrete maintains ground temperature, where grass maintains closer to air temperature.

Very good score predict.

If its a blowout its Utah winning.

Most likely this is a FG game going either way.

It is NOT easy to win in SLC. Utah isnt an easy win on the road. Ask UCLA about 2011. They got pwned.

UCLA is much better now, but then again, Utah is an improved team and a threat to take the upset.

If I were a gambler, I'd bet on Utah. If UCLA wins, they won't cover.

I think the Utes win. Travis Wilson is one of the nation's best kept secrets so far this year. The Utes showed it can stop a very good rushing attack when it held yBu to half its season average entering the game. Also, generally speaking cold weather schools play better at home in cold weather against warm climate schools.

I have more confidence in UCLA covering their points in Provo, than Texas covering their points in Ames.

But not that much confidence.

If I had to bet either game, I wouldn't. I try to never bet on road teams, and I really try to not bet on teams that go on the road and might be playing in weather they don't like.

Utah weather for the afternoon of October 3, 2013: There will be a short lull in activity, but the rain and snow will return this afternoon and stick around through Friday. Expect wind gusts along with the wet weather. Temperatures are cold today. Salt Lake will top out in the mid-fifties.

Wasatch Front Forecast for this afternoon and evening: This evening we will have a rain/snow mix in many spots northern Utah. Mountains could get 3-6" of snow by tomorrow. Winds will be gusty and valleys could get 1-3" of snow by tonight. This just in reported at 1:25 pm I hope we get snow. Oh wait it's already in Moutains! :yahoo:

I'm sure Utah players are looking forward to playing in the worst weather possible as it would be more of an advantage for them. The big question is, does UCLA's players wilt in the face of playing in bad weather? Or do they settle into a strong determination to not let the weather stop them and rise to the occasion? I picked Utah based on the weather but it really should be UCLA's to win or lose.

Those who haven't seen the Utes yet get to see the most awkwardly mobile QB in CFB today. A skinny 6'7 guy with long strides.

It was that "awkwardly mobile QB" that brought the Utes back from a 27-10 deficit against OR St and took it to OT. Just when I thought the Beavs had them beat, that mobile QB started running play-actions, and a delayed QB draw. UCLA's defense had better have a spy to keep the Ute QB from those or he'll be running for big gains on UCLA like he did to OR St.
