The Los Angeles Kings, who already have the deepest prospect pool (although one lacking in star talent), are adding Tyler Madden to it through the Toffoli trade. That's, like, unfair.

I'm okay with the move. Toffoli a free agent this summer so pony up the money or let him go for free. Sold high after his hat trick.

It sucks in the sense that it's another indicator that the cup years are in the past, but this move gets the Kings younger and gives them more cap. Sounds like they brought in talent and good picks. Can't really complain.

Got more for Toffoli than I expected.

Madden is a decent prospect with NHL pedegree (John Madden's son)
Schaller is a Clifford replacement. Same age and size maybe a little more skill (arguable)
The pick is a pick. Who knows how that turns out.

Overall it a good hockey deal. Nucks got a player for the push now and the Kings got
the picks and prospects they need to get younger while adding a 4th line that and fight
when needed and stay in the line up daily.
