Tye Smith, Our 5th round tall physical corner back prospect (hello sherman!)

Keep this in mind and remember, especially if Smith turns out like so many past late drafted secondary members under PC.....

The 49ers, 5 picks earlier, drafted a PUNTER!

Could be good fodder for an argument with our biggest rivals in the future..

Also an interesting note, 4 picks earlier, NE drafted a long snapper

Remember when the Jags took Brian Anger, a punter, five picks ahead of Russ.

Good times.

The LS was the highest rated LS in the draft. A Navy grad where BB dad coached. LS was a need fot the Pats. Time will tell who made the better decision for his team. Considering the way BB has drafted DBs verses Specialists. I like the LS pick. You only worry about LS, KR, and kickers until you don't have a quality one.

Shit, we are screwed! Why would the Patriots take a player they think they need??????

Settle down sally. I was just pointing out that those two teams of interest took special team specialists that most teams sign as UDFAs. ahead of our "next?" Richard Sherman? Should Smith hit like all the other late drafted secondary guys, (Maxwell, Lane, Sherm, Chancellor) We can look back and say, haha silly niners and pats., took special teams players that could of been found as udfas instead of the next richard sherman.

Well that would be true assuming the Hawks didn't pick our boy from Navy. It's all hindsight. time will certainley tell. Way too many 1st rounders don't ever pan out. Overall good draft by both teams.

I see the experts are all giving the Pats, Hawks, Packers and Colts the number #1 Power Rankings for what it's worth?

I'm actually shocked the so called experts gave us a high mark. Usually it's a D or F, but I guess they got tired of being proven wrong. Solid draft for both teams.

Many have. I get the USA sports weekly mailed to me. They gave out grades for the draft and gave the Seahawks a D. Yet when they talk about the picks, they say good thing about them, go figure.
I think everyone here just looks at grades for conversation and entertainment, nobody takes them to heart.

They love playing both sides of the coin. If the draft picks bust, the writers will say that's why we gave them a D grade. If the picks hit a home run, the writers will go back to the print and say they called it right. I think you're right though, it's for talk and entertainment.

the niners drafting a punter could end up being hilarious if Tye Smith pans out. :hope:

Too bad the rivalry is about to go to the wayside. I think the Rams have really been the better rivalry anyways since we joined the division.

Especially since Andy Lee, who I think is by far the best punter in the NFL (no disrespect to Jon Ryan), is still under contract through 2018.

My girlfriend has some awesome moments. She had asked he friends in the media relations department if they could hook me up. I gather he made a quick appearance on campus recently and was happy to help out a fan.image.jpg
