In retrospect, Ty Walker's 'potential' was seemingly always destined to be significantly greater than Ty Walker's 'reality'. Now he has UCL damage and is looking at what is probably a lost season. Best case scenario he will be out at least until all star break but more than likely he'll be headed for TJ surgery.
Should he come back for part of the 2019 season, he'll be turning 27-years old. There would still be plenty of time for him to have a solid career but, in reality, when this kid was first drafted, most of us thought (or hoped, anyway) that he'd be an established all star by now.
We were pretty lucky, two winters ago, when the Arizona GM thought that their outfield was a little too crowded and they needed to dump Haniger on someone.
