The time after the NFL draft can be a rather drab time for fans everywhere. Especially on forum like this one. Sure there are OTA's or maybe an off field story or two, but this should be fun. My two questions: Remember you only get one choice for each.

1. Of all of the coaching additions made which one was the most necessary one? (Yeah, yeah, they all were).......Be brave, pick one then tell us why!

2. SM our resident mover and shaker by all accounts has done a outstanding job thus far, but where do you believe he's done his best work......DL.....OL....ST....LB'ER,.....DB.....other. Just like the first question, be brave pick one then please tell us why!

1) I'll go back a year and pick the obvious one. Gruden. To be fair to Shanahan he never had a year without setbacks and did the best with what he had, but he lost the team with the whole RG3 fiasco and it was an easy choice best suited for all party's involved.

2)SM best work to me hasn't been any position but by saying all the right things and keeping the circus out of town. By naming RG3 the starter in Feb and drafting with guts as well as perhaps saying no to hard knocks he made better this team with less focused put on by media which is always welcomed.

1) callahan was the best move and most needed . the LOS on both sides of the ball lacked greatly

2) other , simply coming up with a plan to build the team and then executing it

1. Have to go with Callahan. The previous coaching regime never developed one young OL into a starter. That has to end. We need guys drafted like long, Moses, lerebius to be developed into starters. If we continue to have to use FA to fill starting positions, we will never get out of the cellar.

2. His best work is installing professionalism into the organization and processes. If you do the little thing right in leading up to a decision, the decision takes care of itself. We can only hope that his management gives him the time and latitude to fully implement his vision.

1. Callahan to me is the call here. I'm not one of the cliché "bring back the hogs" guys, but our offensive line has been a weakness (or at best mediocre) for the better part of a decade. If Griffin is going to have a chance to succeed he will have to be given opportunities to hit big plays in the pass game, and he's done well in play action situations. If we can get that power running game going, and allow Griffin to play off of that it should give him more time and allow him to play to his strengths. And obviously any boost to the running game is huge as well.

2. I like the additions at DL the most. I think Paea is going to be a force as a pass rusher. He was the most underrated signing IMO. On top of that you got one of the best run stuffers in the league (potroast) on a 1 year deal which was a great get, and the kid from Mississippi State looks like he could be a good interior rusher as well. More pass rush as we all know = good things on the backend.

1. Callahan is the obvious call here and it's not even close. The OL needed a new direction and with so many young players their development is absolutely critical

2. Without a doubt DB. The secondary was by far the weakest link on this team. Culliver is a huge addition, one of the best FA signings we made. With him and Breeland we actually have good starting corners. Not sure I can make that claim with the safeties yet but I do know one thing, they are a huge improvement over what we had last year.

Joe Barry: Simply because Haslett was futile in making necessary week to week changes with personnel to put them in position to make plays. He talked a good scheme but never really implemented his attacking vision in full. Barry has established he will "attack" with the 1 gap scheme and move guys around to make best use of his personnel. The change in coaches (schematic) will allow our defense to improve (middle echelon) of the league and allow us to be in games late in the 4th quarter.

2. SM our resident mover and shaker by all accounts has done a outstanding job thus far, but where do you believe he's done his best work......DL.....OL....ST....LB'ER,.....DB.....other. Just like the first question, be brave pick one then please tell us why!
DL: We lacked any kind of presence there last year for various reasons. We became bigger, stronger, younger and (Back to Barry) the scheme will allow this group to flourish. I think the competition along the DL will allow guys like Hatcher to improve in year 2 as well and as you can see (Powe) they keep looking for talent to bring in and compete for roster spots. SM is not resting on his laurels.

Joe Barry is skinzwinz response to your Q #1, just placed within the [quotes] instead of outside them.

Thanks man, the debate won't be a problem, but I'll probably wait awhile before I start busting balls too hard. :)

I'm going with Perry Fewell as the most necessary one, simply because as horrific as our OL was our D backfield was worse. To me he has the most work to do on a unit that still has the most question marks. This is not to underestimate the job that Callahan has to do, but as I thought about last years games it came down to choosing the worse of seeing our OLmen being bulldozed or the unforgettable, unforgivable vision of seeing opposition pass catchers on one side of the field and our defenders on the other.

The second choice came down to DL or OL. The Defensive side of the ball has two basic jobs, keep the opposition offense off of the field and off of the scoreboard. If they are successful, our offense will be spending a lot of time on the field and that to me means they will be required to become very efficient at controlling the ball and TOP. It all begins up front, so my choice here is OL. Good work SM.
