Is there anything they can do that wont be considered "blowing" it?. Some people think going back to ESPN, even if they only aired 1 game a week, would be better than staying with NBC Sports group, other think staying with them would also be blowing it. Theres no way to make everyone happy I think.
I think we can all agree that more exposure, on more networks, with more games available per week to the average viewer, regardless of which networks, would be "not blowing it".

EDIT: With no glowing pucks.

I think blowing it would be going back to ESPN with them as the only national cable broadcast outlet for the NHL. Frankly with their coverage both past and present I do not think they deserve to be a partner with the NHL but if they were one of multiple partners I wouldnt feel too bad.

I've agreed with you all along on this my friend. ESPNBA always treated the NHL like crap even when they had the damn games. The intermissions were all over the place involving other sports.

I still think VS does a decent job with their coverage and frankly if people don't want to watch the games then fuck-um. I just want the best coverage not the channel that has that reaches the most "potential" viewers.

That just makes sense to me too. Versus could show games on Monday and Tuesday and someone else could have a couple nights later in the week. Or mix the days up.

Or an early game on one channel, and a late game on another, without the two games colliding with each other for TV time.

I just saw on ESPN that they're already talking about extening the deadline before the CBA expires in the NFL, so I now think that this is all a ploy just to keep the NFL in the press even more in the off season and there wont be any games missed even if there is a lockout.

+1

And I think VS has done a pretty good job. I personally love watching NHL Overtime. It's just nice to have a national show devoted solely to hockey.

I'm OK without the glowing puck as long as they bring back the comet trail for hard shots.

lol... yeah, that would be OK. I did enjoy seeing the speed of some of the shots.
presumably the technology has improved so that the puck didn't appear to be in row 3 quite so often.
