Well that did not take very long, even quicker than the Baylor game....on Sunday at noon it was around 7,000 by mid day it was around 12,500.

Home attendance this year:
Towson 56,414
Kansas 52,164(homecoming....weather kept a lot of people away...nasty)
Oklahoma 61,908
Baylor 60,758

Avg through 4 games 57,811....

I imagine both TCU and K ST are going to be 60,000 plus...seems the fans are on board no matter where our opponents campus is located. Great to see. :suds:

No.... no.... no...

Last year's ISU game was a true reflection of how WVU fans feel about being in the Big 12. Nobody cares about playing any of these teams.

Didn't take long for our fair weather fans to jump back on the bandwagon. Even ole DAD has admitted he's been wrong about the program...

I thought we were not allowed to post on same threads anymore?

I am just glad to see the students start to get serious about this thing(minus after game stuff) but they are really starting to come out in full force. I mentioned it in another thread, this senior class is the only one who even knew the Big East, these new kids don't care about the Cincy, USF, and Uconns of the world, probably don't even care about Pitt and Va Tech to be honest. More come when we win, but even more come when we win and have these ranked teams coming to Motown.

It has turned Motown into a even better gameday atmosphere.

According to WVU STATS we have the 7th highest total attendance in WVU history not counting the TCU and K ST games.

The BU coach... Briles... commented that he felt the WVU crowd made a difference in the game. I won't be able to go to the TCU game, but I hope we have the same kind of crowd for them too.

Can you believe this....

Patrick Southern @patricksouthern Follow
RichRod faced 7 AP Top 10 teams in regular season during his entire tenure at #WVU (2001-07). Holgorsen likely to face 5 this year alone.

Are you Patrick Southern? Dammit! I violated the "posting on the same thread" rule, but didn't violate the "timeline" rule.

NO, dad was not wrong, Holgorsen has started coaching in a way more to my liking. He has grown up, started caring about defense, started calling the offense himself, has a new emphasis on conditioning, and is a completely different coach than last year, had Holgorsen NOT done these things, and continued how he coached last year, we would likely be 2-6 now, rather than 6-2.

I still do not get the concept that pointing out areas where your team needs to improve makes you a "fair weather fan"? This Coach HAS come a long way from where he was even last season. Maybe the program is maturing, maybe he is looking at things as a more complete picture - like a HC must do. Putting the defensive minds in charge for this season has taken one of the worst Defenses in the country and turned them into one of the best. Not SEC caliber, but pretty darn-gummit close.

Abandoning the Pass-it happy offense for a more balanced run-pass spread approach has made WVU unpredictable and hard to contain. Shell and White haven't hurt either. Still need to work on ST, but it has been improving every week as well. Let's hope it improves at every level for the rest of the season and continues to improve next season and every season there after.

IMHO - there is no such thing as a "complete team". Every team has areas where they can improve - and it is in all areas.

DAD... just the fact that you admit to seeing this year what has been placed in motion for the past 4 years... is proof that you have admitted to being wrong.

Dana has depth... Dana has hired great coaches... Dana has his team prepared... and this year... they FINISH!! You're saying it... you're seeing it. You have announced to the world... you were wrong.

A fairweather fan is one whom only attends home games when the team is winning.

Dana has built depth. It is what was missing from the past.

Why can you not admit that Holgorsen is coaching differently this year? He has said it, the asst coaches have said it, the players have said it, reasonable fans can see it...........You just blindly claim depth was the issue last year, while it was part of the issue, the bigger was arrogance of the HC in blindly sticking to his style of offense and not giving a shit about defense.

I don't know if I would say his coaching is different, but his in game decisions is definitely different.

Him calling the offensive plays, and the balanced run-pass ratio says to me that he has grown greatly as a coach, and I attribute a lot to Bradley being on the staff and coaching the coaches.

There were times last year watching games I would question the play calling - ie runs at certain times, but believe it is more balanced this year because the horses are finally in place to be productive - depth anyone. I was under the impression that the OC called the plays then Dana obviously would change at his discretion.

I agree, Bradley probably has had an influence on the coaching staff and team in general.

I don't believe he is coaching differently. I already outlined this for you on Sunday.

He has depth today that he didn't have before. Coach Crook has his boys ready to punch it up front to run some power. That is the only difference between last year and this year.

He called games to give his kids the best chance to win games last year. Clint was hurt, Ford was hurt, and Paul had/has an FCS arm and zero mobility.

It ain't that difficult a concept to grasp....

If you don't think depth was a issue and it is just a matter of play calling....then why are 4 guys on a normal basis getting stats in the book at RB? This team has grown up and has numbers to support what Holgerson has wanted to do for the last two years.....he has learned patience from 3 years of coaching, not 6 months of Bradley. If that was all it took send him down to Defo's office....:pound:
