Pretty thorough, if not earth shattering.

Off-Season Game Plan: Vancouver Canucks

I disagree with his assessment of a couple of players (Glass, mainly), but he points out an interesting opportunity for a pretty dangerous 'young guns' 3rd line featuring Hodgson and Grabner and whoever.

fwiw... TSN has been doing a different team per day, so it may be worth it for fans of other teams to follow the link, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if that "whoever" turned out to be Jordan Schroeder. He looked pretty good with the Moose after his college season finished.

I also think he's better suited for the wing than center in the pros due to his size.

I'd love to see that line in camp anyways, to see where it goes. World Jr heroes for Canada and the US united... draw your own Kane - Toews comparison, just an average of about 15 draft spots lower each for our guys :p

I guess Shirokov kind of fell of the map? ha has such promise until the real games started last year. The other guy I'm really looking forward to seeing this year is Connauton. He was just terrific for the Giants last year.

basically though, for us to get from a very good team to a great team, Luongo just needs to look like a $10m goalie.

I'd settle for him looking like a $4million goalie.

We need Connauton to step up. He's one of our few defensive prospects with real potential. I think Ellington and Sauve will be serviceable but I don't think either will be a top 4 and both are a few years away.

The Canucks need another 3 robots on the team so they can form "Ultimate Canuck."

They would be unstoppable.

he hasn't had much NHL success. But he was the AHL goalie of the year last year and was the only reason the Moose were in the playoffs this year.

Given more time to adjust to NHL shooters he's going to be a great goalie for someone.

Yeah Corey needs more than 4 games on his NHL resume per year. if he gets into a consistent 20 game back up roll where he can adjust his habits and training I think he will show the promise is justified. When Corey wins its usually in spite of him in the NHL when he lost it was in spite of the team most of the time. the book is very much still to be written on him.

the rest is a good read and I agree with puck what the hell happened to Shirokov. trade bait to washington :)

I always liked TSN's season in review. its always very good.

I am also hearing the assistant coaches are on the verge of being whacked. AV will likely be retained (of course with a new 3 year deal) but the assistants (maybe not Walter as he is Gillis own guy) are on the hot seat.
