This is beginning to look like a bad year for the Nebraska defense for the injury bug and dismissals.

The young, inexperienced defensive front seven became thinner when Brown and Suttles were dismissed and now Roach is hurt. If anymore happens, aye yuh yii yuh yii. Or however you spell it.

This is the first year that Bo will have no choice but to play young players on defense.

We will probably have a deep 2- deep rotation defense wise so essential you need to be top 22-28 defender.

Golden chance to be a force on defense for the next couple of years .

Season hopes rest on the defense...

Yep should look like Afalava, Santos, and Anderson for the starters... back ups gets a bit more precarious... I think it will be Banderas, Rose, Newby/Starkebaum

I read an interesting article about how the zone read offense has changed the NFL while I was waiting at the hospital during my daughters surgery Saturday. The defense has to wait and read what the offense is doing instead of attacking. Zone read offenses make defenses play very disciplined. Seattle, San Francisco, and Washington are using the zone read and NFL defensive coaches are turning to college coaches for help during the off-season. The author thinks the zone read is the flavor of the month in the NFL like the wildcat was.

That being said, I hope the young Huskers are ready to play disciplined defense.

I have such a bad feeling about our defense, that I thought about praying for them, but I remembered that I usually got the opposite of what I prayed for in the past!

Can't figure out if we should score quick, and keep pushing it, or stretch out the drives and give the D some rest, or just keep the pedal to the metal and hope the D keeps them under forty. UCLA should tell us all, what we will need to know early on.

If the defense is well rested it will have no excuse when they give up 30 points per game. I say score as fast as you can, then make excuses for the defense because they are tired.
