I drew 1st pick in my draft. If I were going to trade it, what should I be looking for?

I have the first pick in a 10 team league. Likely AP. If I were to trade it , what should I be looking for in return

it sall depends on whom else you draft.. see where your shortage is and if you really want to trade AD then you would ahve to get what ever you are short in ..whom would you rather have then AD though?

No I would want to do it before the draft. For example - I would trade my 1st and 5th for someone elses 1st and 2nd.

I think you should only trade with someone in the middle of the first round and try to get a first and 3rd for your first and 6th. If you move to the end of round 1, the difference between the back you take and AP will be too great, IMO. Most owners will be reluctant to give their first and second, but go for it if you think you can get it.

It is very important that you give up an even round pick. 6th sounds better than 7th, but in reality, it is just 1 pick difference. If you deal your 5th pick for a third, you are really only moving up about 15 spots, where a third and 6th are about 35 spots different.

I think AP is awesome, but he has more trade value than actual value because there is no chance he repeats his dream season from last year. The RB that you take at 5 or 6 could produce at a similar level, or at least at a level close enough to make it worth taking the extra 3rd round pick.

If Charles is iffy, that top tier of RBs just got thinner.

Never mind, Charles might be back Tuesday! This is wilwhite, your #1 source for premature speculation.

The other one's underrated; it can save you a lot of money. "You know, you're really beautiful... I'd like to sit here for hours buying you expensive cocktails and then we'd head out of here and catch a cab, and in the cab you'd loosen your hair and lean over and - oops - never mind, see you around."

Adrian Peterson. If it is the first pick overall and no teams have been established yet, then don't trade the pick. Take Peterson.

This would be my line of thinking when considering a trade. I can get someone at 5 who will do very close to what Peterson will do, and an extra early round pick would be pretty valuable. I don't go out of my way too far to trade, but if I get a first and third for first and 6th, like he's indicating, I take it. If it's my fourth I need to give back, I'm not sure if I do it.

I guess it depends on your outlook. Would you rather have Charles (or another top 6 RB of your choice) and D. Thomas?

Or would you rather have AP and Eric Decker?

I know which one I would rather have. If you can trade picks, you trading the #1 pick is the definition of selling high. As long as you get enough for it, you can make your team a lot better.

To echo Tlance, it really depends on how far back you fall if you make this deal, and how comfortable you'd feel with what would be tehre at that time, plus the potential for 2 rounds 2's or 3's.
Personally I wouldn't deal the first overall pick to anyone outside the top three for anything less than a 1st and second, with my 7th being the throw back..but I'm a greedy dick. ;)

Actually Im very high on Richardson who I could probably get 8th or 9th. But I would love a shot at Dez. Picking 1,20, 21. It looks like AP, Chris Johnson or MJD, 21. would be an outside shot at AJ Green but more than likely Brandon Marshall or D. Thomas / of course Peyton and Graham could be in that mix as well
