I was waiting to see how this looked. Overall FBS rankings D for Huskers 100th, Overall FBS rankings O for Cowboys 10th.

fucking unreal. I don't see how this season will be an enjoyable one.

That has to be the worse ranking ever for D. Remember, this was a 4-8 team last year and they are non AQ BCS.

Bret Beilema of Wisconsin was smart enough last year to fire his offensive line coach when it was apparent that Wisconsin's O line sucked because of coaching, DURING the season.

Papuchis has got to go. Bring in Rich Glover. He was coaching high school in New Jersey or something.

Nebraska name recognition. Has coaching experience. Hall of Famer. Knows how to play D line. Might not know how to coach college kids, but then neither does Papuchis.

someone else's summary of what Benning said on radio today FWIW

????So.. here goes. He started off by giving a detailed breakdown of different Defensive Strategies employed by Bo and JP. Talked?on length about "Bracket Coverage" and how its designed to mitigate long yardage plays and 3rd and Long situations. He agreed in general about how effective it was given Wyoming was abysmal on 3rd down. The flip side to Bracket Coverage is that well... its Bracket Coverage and turns certain Defensive players backs to the ball.. this allows those scampers to take place from the QB and RB on draws.
Now that could have been stamled out by the LB IF they again played their keys right. Sometimes they did.. sometimes they didn't.Which we saw. He stated he Tweeted a picture on this to his account breaking it down further.

????He got into how certain packages to certain things. Stated it took the right players to accomplish this. Said we had them. iscussed the old school "Robber" position. 1 and 2 high safety looks and then brought up how certain offenses have completely rewritten Defensive structure on the basic level. Nowadays the "Free Safety" is no longer free and has more run fit responsibility and cannot simply. .be free. (Again guys I apologize, Im doing my best)

????Now for the part Ill have no issue with relaying. From his vantage point he stated he witnessed several things. One being the relaying of Defenses to the in field players and at times they would have a hard time themselves relaying the play to their fellow Blackshirts. He suspects that will get better.

????He is in post game interview with Bo sensed (same as I and this is what I stated above about thinking no way it happened) from the answers given, Bis body language and tone etc that Bo KNEW exactly what could happen because he did (hypothetically) place hia players under a true test under fire. He gave them a general defense to run and allowed them to adjust it (more to the point to see WHO could adjust) correctly. Now with the answers he gave DB and the pressers since Damon has a notion that Bo really means what he says about knowing what needs to happen. How to correct it etc. He thinks Bo really could/needs to now adjust his system with a better understanding of what these specific group of players talents are. I felt this same thing in his interview Post Game. He seemed WAY too casual, too calm etc for what happened. I thought that Bo had done all this basically on purpose and DB shared that sentiment. He didn't se5 them up to fail... he did (again only notions) give them a "blank" canvas (basic defense) and allowed them to paint the appropriate scene (play calls/fits/assingnments).

Is tbis a bit unorthodox if true? Yes. Is there any better way of judging talent and the ability to overcome adversity? I tbink not IMO.

Do I hope tbis is true. That Bo challenged his kids in a way never before used method to see exactly what they could do and build upon that? We shall see. Apologies for the errors in not only spelling but everything else. I stopped at a gas station and typed all this via cell phone.
