They got their signature big win, now they just need to take care of buisiness and finish this thing out strong. Anybody disagree with that? How many more wins do we need to be a lock for a tourney bid?

Maybe a lock at 3--ya think? And still a good chance with 2 wins. Especially with a good showing in the B12 tourney, that is, at least one win.

Lets not start sucking each others dicks just yet.....we still have a potential letdown game against KState. We take care of that game I will feel much better about our "at-large" chances.

Even with the Texas win, we aren't even in disney's first four out. Not that he's the be all end all, but he's pretty damn accurate.

We've gotta keep playing our way in. Force them to look at us!

I agree

Prior to the NU game Texas was making 49 percent of their shots in conference play. They only made 36 percent against Nebraska. Nebraska's defense makes you shoot from the outside. A team needs to be on from the perimeter and Texas wasn't last night.

In NU's other conference losses the other teams were draining 3's and jumpers.

Nebraska had a good night offensively as well.

Nebraska did a great job of contesting all of Hamilton's outside shots.........he was 3-11 from downtown, but 2 of those misses were on shots that we fouled him on :L

I mean, I had a pretty good view of it though...........we had a hand right in this face on all those shots that he missed. The ones he made were because he was left open.

We need to be able to play defense with that kind of intensity against Kansas State or we are going to lose to them by double-digits guaranteed..........they have the skill at the guard positions to kill us if we don't play that type of defense.

It's Nebraska's defense. The other teams are going to get shots. They're either on or they're not. If Nebraska can hang within single digits beyond halftime in any game, the pressure increases for the other team to start hitting shots. Texas fell apart when they didn't have the lanes to go to as a backup. They kept trying though which I thought was odd.

We beat them in the paint 38-14

But yea, we can't rely on teams to just be off from downtown........95% of Texas' misses from 3 point range yesterday were from Hamilton himself...........if we would have left him open he would have made damn near all of them, as will any good shooting guard in this conference.

If we leave Pullen open on Wednesday, game over.........guaranteed. We need to lock up the paint again, but we also have to get a hand in the face of those outside shooters. Pullen will make 12 out of 15 threes if he is left open.

i think our offense is playing better now, which is what we need to do. We need to start getting 75 points a game.

And yea I do agree with what you're sayin RA.........essentially what Doc-coached defenses do is clog the paint and take away the easy baskets. What they also do really well is play help defense and double up and still manage to recover back to their original position. We have some quick guys out there.

Also, in response to 1217, yes our offense is all of a sudden playing great. We actually switched things up yesterday and put both Almeida and Diaz on the blocks down low which we don't usually do..........we started really dominating inside when we did that.

It is a great weapon to have a guy like Bear Jones who can come off the bench and launch NBA three pointers over top of defenders at any time.

As Doc said after the game, this game against Texas helped him to realize what he needs to start doing offensively......................which is get Almeida and Diaz in there at the same time, force these teams to try to play bigger down low or bring help down low, which opens up shots for guys like Bear

I think Doc has job security now..LOL...

He always had it, but I don't think anyone wants him fired anymore.

Yea the funny thing is that a lot of the people calling for Doc's head weren't people who follow basketball at all..........they just see the record and start complaining.

Doc took over in a pretty difficult situation. Even now we don't have the type of talent that we need to compete in the Big 12.........but we make up for that lack of talent often by putting in more effort than our opponents. That is all thanks to Doc and his staff........I can't even imagine if we got some really talented recruits how good of a team Doc could put together.

I agree. Texas was a huge win, but the Huskers still have some serious work to do in order to get in the dance....
