Man watchin him run the option offense is somethin else

That flip to Abdullah was an amazing bait, read, and flip showing good awareness by Armstrong.. in a hostile 112k crowd ta boot. Tommy wasnt afraid of the hit he was gonna take either and waited til the end backed off Abdullah

Gonna be fun to watch fellers, the dude is a natural

Did you listen to Bos' presser?
Bo stated he thought Tommy held onto the ball to long and should have pitched it sooner :L

I sure hope Bo doesn't try to micromanage this up & coming shining star. It seems like it's been forever since we've seen somebody actually run the option in that manner.

can you imagine if we went back to the ol power I and triple option with this kid, we have the backs to do it but our o line would need some conditioning. Bo admits hes not too good with offense so hopefully he keeps his nose out of it.

He did exactly what he was supposed to do in that instance.

Hold the ball long enough to force the defensive end to commit one way or the other.

Taylor doesn't have that patience to let plays develop.

The O line is fine when they are running downhill. They actually played pretty good pass pro yesterday as well, but Tommy was doing a lot of rolling out so that helps.

Michigan had a good rushing defense going into the game and that was my primary concern. I didn't think Nebraska could win without getting near it's average rushing yds per game (260). They won in spite of only rushing for 128.

Credit the defense. Not something we get to say a lot.

There's a reason Bo has an offensive coordinator. Him questioning the intricacies of the option would be like me questioning a brain surgeon while he is elbow deep in a cranium.

Taylor can't run a tradition option for shit. However Taylor runs the zone read option about as well as anybody. But it Taylor was the QB if I'm Beck I don't even call that play during the game.

I've never seen Taylor properly execute a traditional screen pass either. He doesn't have the patience to let things develop like they should. As a 5th year senior that stuff should be second nature.

I don't recall Beck even calling a screen with TA or RK at QB, so maybe they can't either. :noidea:

The reason Tommy runs it well is because he keeps his eyes where they are supposed to be.....

Taylor is instantly looking to Abdullah as soon as they make their way towards the perimeter. He literally tells the Defense what he's going to do.

I've noticed that several times Tommy has held on to the ball for a long time and then cut up field on his own and picked up 3 or 4 yards. That is running the option to perfection right there.
