this one is strange Hornsby beats Morgan in dWAR, but Hornsby's best seasons are at SS, AND defense was just not known to be as good back then the defensive fielding percentage was well lower than Morgan's.- So I will call this a tie???

This one is much harder to conclude than I thought it would be... We knew before hand it was a power hitter vs a speed hitter... Morgan lead the MLB in OBP 4 times, and is one of the BEST stolen base guys of all time... while Hornsby lead the MLB in BA 7 times and was one of the best power guys of his time...

I think Longevity is going to make me choose Morgan... But this one is SUPER CLOSE...

I had a big write up with the OPS+ breakdown, and the site broke on my so it got lost.

The gist...

Hornsby CLEARLY won the OPS+ breakdown, and they basically tied in the accolades and defense analyses.

I went with Hornsby.

I took Hornsby, but Morgan is way near the top among 2nd basemen. He had 5 straight seasons in his prime where he was playing at an extremely high level. But Hornsby had 8 or 9 seasons like that.
