Agree OU has had some bad teams during this time frame, but at the same time they are also tied for 10th in Elite 8 Appearances, which is pretty good. And are tied for 20th in NCAA Tournament appearances, and tied for 14th in FF Appearances. Gonzaga has been great in getting to the NCAA Tournament, tied for 1st in the category. But 47 more programs have been to an Elite 8.

I am not sure about win % for OU, but clearly Gonzaga's would blow OU's out of the water due to them being in the WCC.

Again, I don't think gonzaga should be ahead of Oklahoma, I'm not comparing those two. I don't think the ncaa tournament is all that matters, but I am surprised OU is tied for 20th in appearances. That being said, consistency is something that IMO helps define a teams success and gonzaga has been one of the most consistent teams since mark few took over.

Gonzaga looks really good until they get into the tournament against good teams from the better conferences. They had the best record last year and had a dominant season but looked like crap in the tourney.

Really? IMO Florida is way ahead of the other two programs. Just for comparison sake:

Florida: 12 NCAA Appearances, 6 S16's, 6E8's, 3FF's, and 2 Titles
Kentucky: 12 NCAA Appearances, 7 S16's, 5E8's, 2FF's, and 1 Title
Syracuse: 11 NCAA Appearances, 7 S16's, 3E8's, 2FF's, and 1 Title

I know Billy Donovan had some good runs in the mid 2000s. I did forget and believe me have I tried to forget the gators defeating my Buckeyes. I see your point. Still think
Cuse and Kentucky are better than where they currently stand.

They looked pretty darn good against good teams from better conferences during the regular season. They played bad during a tournament game. Southern is worse than a lot of WCC teams Gonzaga played, and destroyed, during the regular season.

I agree. But as good as Gonzaga was touted to be they should have at least made it into the Final Four. They played like they didn't deserve a #1 seed and they didn't look like a 30 win team.

I completely agree. It doesn't discount the fact that their regular season was one of the best last year, it wasn't due to the fact that they played in the wcc. They were good. Regardless, they've been extremely consistent and there are several teams, like Xavier and creighton, who (should) aspire to be like gonzaga.

And, I don't think unc played like a one seed and one of the best teams in the country when they lost to Kansas in the elite eight in 2012. And in 2012, Duke didnt look like a 2 seed team who was successful in the acc...

Gonzaga poached Drew Barham from Memphis in an effort to try and make him the next Kelly Olynyk. It's been rumored that Drew is in Europe and is letting his underarm hair grow and may have stopped shaving his legs.

I can't get over how impressive it is that MSU has managed to do so well in basketball and at the same time field a consistently good football team.

Tells me there's no reason why Nebraska can't have a consistently good basketball team. Especially with the new arena and facilities.

Those new digs are awesome...Husker fans can look forward to 7 months'-worth of great sports (instead of just 4) very soon.

nebraska's new arena will do wonders for the school. it will add huge amounts of dollars to their revenue streams with their playing BB & hockey there.

the biggest kept secret is that FB pays the bills, while BB makes the money. schools like louisville, ohio state, syracuse, texas, michigan, michigan state & texas are higher than most would expect in athletic budgets/revenue due in large part to their dual commitment to bb & fb
