My father wore a leather helmet when he played high school fb. Played alongside Lute Olsen in college on both the cbb and cfb teams. Lute said he was the better bb player, but my dad was the better fb player.

If you look at the numbers, there's no real down-tick in the frequency of it happening the last two decades compared to decades in the past. If anything, we've had more the past two decades than many of the previous ones.

Take the 90's, where we were owning OSU and won a national title, we had 5 consensus all Americans. 2000-2009 we had 10, and from 2010-2019 we had 6.
