Second viewing makes me think you're onto something, puck. That might be a blindside hit, and if so you can't argue that he's targeting the head. The league is saying they want to get rid of concussions.

im looking at the replay in slow mo at 1:40 and it looks to me like one skate remains on the ice before contact... and then at point of contact with my paisan the second skate is in air ... so Im not sure how dirty this one is ... imo its a tough one to call

You could make a case that Coliaccovo has to keep his head up, but at the same time it's considered a blindside hit. East to West type of hit that the NHL is trying to eliminate. He definitely did lunge up a bit when he went for the hit also. I love the little guy's work ethic and of course he plays on the edge, but you would think after doing this type of role for so long that he would figure out what's a good hit and what's a bad hit....

Any time there is a questionable or downright dirty hit, the fans of the victim's team claim outrage, while the fans of the aggressor's team jump to defend. It just so happens there are lots of Pens and B's fans, so that one ballooned quickly.

You're not going to see much of a war of words when Nashville and St. Louis get into a scrape.

i don't like that one too much. it was from the side, and it seemed like he may have been targeting the head...but really it's impossible to tell what he was 'targeting'
