Also, I tried to bottle my beer today. It was awful. I spilled half a case because my siphon hose just wouldn't pinch. Additionally, my capper broke, and the piece that broke off flew right into the beer bucket. :L

Oh, and the beer sucks. :burt:

I actually could but how in the fuck would i get it there

Any suggestions? I was going to pretty much go basic. But I've never built anything with a stress load in mind. No idea if I can actually build something to hold 700 lbs.

Use vertical and horizontal support.

Always research look at frame designs for aquariums on google and take the strengths of the structure into account than make sure you account for the strength of your materials.finish can be used later to make it look good

Use vertical and horizontal support.

Good point, though. The main thing I'm worried about is that I don't want to build a work bench sized stand. It's a narrow tank. I want it close to the wall. I just don't want bowed legs after 3 years.

 but it's industry standard for stairs to use vertical and horizontal support, surely a fish tank couldn't be that much worse than kids thundering up and down...

if your worried about legs build it solid you can always use it for storage/filter just make sure it is sturdy

55 galons, plus gravel and such, that's gotta be getting close to 600 pounds. I guess I'm also worried about bad assembly. Good lumber will be fine, building the joints badly would be...uh...possible for me.

Pay your local carpenter then. Just think how much cheaper it'd be than replacing all those expensive fishies, and all that water damage...

LOL, I know. I'll do it at my dad's shop, he'll make sure I don't wreck it. I have to have a plan, however, or he will likely run and hide so he doesn't have to draw it up. My Mom already has a huge ass list for him. Trying to stay out of his hair.
