Just saw Gameday Final...........have ESPN on in the background while I'm doing some work.....

No love for thee Huskers at all. I'm usually not one to say this either, but when they were showing the Nebraska game they basically said "Burkhead was injured, and Taylor Martinez's throwing motion still looks bad, but he did complete some passes."

Didn't even give Taylor a helmet sticker for putting up thee most dominant stats of the day.........easily showing the most improvement of any player in College Football on Saturday. Couple of guys who put up a little over 100 yards on the ground got a sticker even.....

I hope Taylor does the same thing to UCLA. I hope he makes it undeniable that he is indeed much improved and is a serious threat at the QB position.

Have to agree about no sticker for Taylor.

But he was on the lead line on the bottom line most of Saturday night

I know it, and I shouldn't complain about it because Taylor did get a ton of recognition and is going to win Capital One Impact player of the week and all.....

But what pissed me off the most is when Rece Davis said "No QB in the country even came close to having a day like Geno Smith of West Virginia on Saturday."

I know, I know........it's just a stupid show and all and I shouldn't get all riled up about it. But dammit, I love me Huskers and Taylor put in a TON of work in the off-season. I think it is obvious that his day was quite comparable to Geno Smith's.......

I would prefer for the hype to build organically than for ESPN to be all over their nuts because they beat southern miss silly.

That way it's not even really hype. I just think it does nothing but help us when they don't fawn all over the Huskers.

I hope they keep doubting them and detracting all season.

Yea, I hope it builds up as well......

It's jest that Geno Smith did not have a better day than Taylor Martinez.........so don't go saying no QB in the country even came close to Geno Smith on Saturday :nono:

Matt Schick pimped him for Heisman on espnu's CFB Daily this afternoon.

If he continues to play that efficient and we win games, hell he will lead the Heisman race.

I just don't see him playing like that all season. All I'm looking for is for him to be consistently efficient all season...........he doesn't have to be freakishly consistent every game for us to win. Saturday was a freakish performance.

if he can complete 60-65% of his passes all season and burkhead can come back full strength before B1G play and the D looks just a tiny bit better than this saturday, we WILL win the B1G.

thats only 3 "if"s. thats not that bad

This guy must be a real prick to say that. Taylor had an outstanding day, deserving of much praise.

Apparently USM brought back two guys from a secondary that ranked 7th in the nation in pass efficiency defense last season.

Not suggesting USM's secondary is good, just reading the tea leaves.

we have approximately the 15th best offense in the country in terms of Passing yards, rushing yards, and scoring after this 1st game

I would have thought higher.

I guess it's been so long since we've seen good offense out of NU, I think it's better than it was.
