University of Fla pres Machen says SEC board met and "reaffirmed their contentment with the current 12 team alignment" did say that in the future they could see value in expanding.

Yea. It is all legal posturing right now. The SEC could get in some legal trouble if they invite a team that is still in another conference. So for right now they arent extending an invite but are just waiting for A&M to leave the Big12 before they do. There is no way A&M would hassle with leaving the Big12 if they didnt know they had an invite waiting for them just like how the Nebraska to Big10 stuff happened last summer.
