I've thought about that too, then I look at the attendance of MLB teams around the country and figure that it would do just as well as those markets. I think the Yankees/Sox/Cubs fans from NC (not the transplants) would convert. I'm not so sure about the Braves fans.

I don't have data to back this up, but it seems like there are fewer and fewer Redskins fans in NC each year as the Panthers get older.

But my thought is that since it appears the Braves are only allowed 1 World Series per city, they should move to cities around the south and stay there until they win a world series and then move on. I'd have Charlotte as the first stop(hopefully Smyrna counts as a new city).

lol, the Braves only winning 1 World Series during the 1990's is/was extremely disappointing. Its hard to find disappointment during a run of 14 straight division titles, yet our boys managed to pull it off.

Definitely.

I wouldn't call it choking. In 91, we were a young team that damn near pulled it off in what was considered one of the best WS of all time, and the Blue Jays going back to back means they were just a better team.

We finally got ours in the third try, but then that Yankees dynasty happened, and though we should have won in 96, they were a buzz saw.

But in the early 2000's, we started choking big time. In 2002 when we lead the NL in every offensive category, and were still putting up great pitching numbers, but couldn't make it out of the NLDS was a sign of things to come.

Haven't won a playoff series since 2001.
