Acting like this after 1 blown save is an overreaction but this shit has become a trend. He has the 2nd most blown saves among Closers this year.

Who do you suggest take his place?

Vizcaino has proven to be a failed closer in the past, Jose Ramirez is batting .000 in his save opportunities this season, and take a gander at Johnson's first and second half splits from last season.

I don't know what's up with Mauricio Cabrera, but until he gets back, Johnson is our best option.

First half 2016:

31 games, 4.06 ERA, 1.226 WHIP, 2.7 K/BB ratio, .243 average against

Second half 2016:

34 games, 2.14 ERA, 1.158 WHIP, 4.1 K/BB ratio, .228 average against

So, yes @gobigred Jim Johnson is a second half pitcher.

The guy that hasn't been a closer in 5 years that has more appearances than innings pitched this season?

I like Motte, he's been a great addition off the scrap heap, but Johnson is a better option at closer. Mauricio Cabrera or AJ Minter is our closer of the future, but in the meantime, Johnson is our best option, and you'll be singing a different tune when he's dominating in the second half of the season.

Yes it will.

All games matter, but if a player is gonna be great one half of the season and be average in the other half, I'd rather the greatness come in the second half of the season.

Remember that horrible start to the season Freddie had last season? Are you saying that all world second half didn't matter?

This team is a mystery to me. They can look like world beaters for a week and then look like the worst team in the Majors the next.
