Sorry, should've specified; I finished my doctorate in PT. Decided against med school; I would've pushed for ortho or neuro and didn't feel like being 34 before I finished "school."

I am an Epidemiologist(PhD). Med school was an option, but I really was not passionate about it, if that makes sense, and if I wasn't 100% into it, I didn't think it was something I should do. I love what I do now though.

Same here; a small part of it was impatience though. I really effing enjoy orthopedics and seeing my patients 2-3 times a week; plus I get the chance to lecture at USC a couple times a semester and may eventually purse a PhD and teach later on.

It'll pay off, especially if its what you're passionate about. I just didn't want to be mired down in years of internships and residencies only to piss away my youth; especially considering how much it costs...
