Trade for Dioner Navarro!!! He's rotting on Toronto's bench and about 9 times better than Tuffy. Dioner wants out and Tuffy should be in the minors. This shouldn't be that hard to pull off.

Fuck that DH posing as a catcher. I'll take Tuffy with his defense while batting .230/.290/.500 over Navarro batting .270/.317/.712 while rarely throwing out runners & allowing balls to the backstop.

So many inaccuracies...

Tuffy has never hit .230/.290. That projection is based on wishes, not reality. He's hit (albeit in a smaller sample size) .178, .225, and .205. So .230 would be a "career year". That pretty much says it all.

Navarro has a better DWAR (.9) than Tuffy (.2). So any comment that Tuffy is vastly superior defensively is not supported real well. It would be debatable AT BEST.

Tuffy is a minor league catcher. He is only here because the Dbacks have nobody else. Navarro is an obvious upgrade and can put Tuffy back to where he belongs...a backup catcher.

I wasn't using actual statistics... I was projecting out what would be acceptable giving the difference in defense.

But in no world is Navarro the better catcher behind the dish. And that is what these young arms in the rotation need.

Take a look at CS%, RF, PB, & pitch framing stats from 2014. All are dramatically in favor of Tuffy. And many of those stats put Tuffy ahead of Miggy.

dWAR is going to be skewed in Navarro's favor because of the dramatic difference in innings played behind the plate.

That's not even accounting for the assets we would have to give up in order to lad Navarro. It's obvious that Tor is looking for a decent return for him or he would have alreadt been traded.
