I agree with Bill Ford Jr. You make such comments at a Charity bash because those comments are intended to be funny. The Bears have embraced physicality as part of their team persona. You always regard people and teams who are physical/successful against you as being thugs. It was a back-handed compliment like 'Damn Yankees'.

On the other hand, it might be that he was in fact gloating, trying to elicit the sentiment expressed by Bears CB Tim Jennings in his comments posted above.
