Also, both hits described by videos in this thread were clean. Oshie's was just a random collision. He was actually playing the puck when the two players collided. Samuel's was a square shoulder to the chest.
I think we're missing the more important bit of information from that video: Oshie just disproved Newton's third law.
If hockey players played in a vacuum, sure.
But then again, if they played in a vacuum, the game wouldn't last very long...
