The Titans were trying to save Mularky the shame and embarrassment of having his career tarnished.

Um... coaching the Titans isn't tarnishing his career? Both teams sucked this year.

And they have a worse team .......
We have 27 million and could have more cap space depending on roster moves.

Hi Leo, the Bears have $27 mil under the cap? If true that is awesome!

well, the $27 million is OK, but considering that only consider about 33 roster-grade guys, it's not as good as you might think. Even at $27 million, we are 21st in the league in cap space, and that is with more roster openings than the average team. So...we aren't in a strait jacket, but the Bears are hardly flush with cash either. We need to sign a bunch of guys, even if we hit on every draft pick, just to have a full roster. Plus I would be shocked if they don't extend Alshon right now.

Obviously the biggest question is whether to keep or trade Cutler, within 3 days of new league year...if after day 3, almost certain they will keep him. Everything sort of follows that choice.
