So I just discovered that Crosby has recorded at least one point in 23 of 27 games this season, a rate of 85%. That's pretty solid consistency.

I go to NHL.com this morning and see his picture plastered with "Kid's A Natural", and a sudden burst of hatred fills my eyes... I don't think that'll ever change. It's really natural to hate him...honestly, when guys like Gretz and Lemieux were playing, I doubt fans of other teams 'loved' them. I can guarantee you that if he played for pretty much any other team I'd hate him. I'd respect him...but I'd still hate him.

I understand fully. The constant flood of press that he has received since before he even came into the league has basically watered down and cheapened the content for many readers. So when there is a time that the praise is warranted (2 hatties in 3 games, one a natural), it loses its effectiveness.

You know, that does kinda suck... It's to the point that I'm sure many Pens fans almost expect it, so its no big deal. I mean I'm sure you guys are thrilled for any goal from any player... But the media has definitely killed any shock & awe from Crosby. Still very talented.
