I am firmly in the NO camp.
For all the years that I heard people complain about Hextall and his non traditional style...
For the fact that he is in the same age bracket as me on most surveys...
For the face that he is a cancerous rectal polyp...

I would rather go with Mason and ?? than bring in Thomas. Simple. He creates issues for his team with his comments. You thought Bryz was an issue maker....OMG.....

And...while he is a good goalie...he is not that good...and he is old.

I would rather find a way to swing a younger 1b/2 and go with what we have and develop than try to swing for the fences and think that Thomas is the answer...cause his isn't

I'm hoping that the Flyers do indeed explore Halak. We have to trade a dman at the very least. I think Read is going sooner rather than later. Halak and a 4th for Read and Meszaros. Mesz is strictly to shed salary.

Halak is my definite #1 choice -- but I wouldn't be too upset at TT for 1-2 years, at about $2-3M per.

That locker room will be split. You think Bryzy was bad, TT is on the same level. Ask a Bruins fan. I don't want to take that risk.

Looks like I am in the minority here. I really want Thomas, even if he is old and just took a year off. While I dont have much faith in Mason, I do think he can be servicable for a season if Thomas were to falter. Also, Thomas could end up being a huge homerun if he works out. Low risk, high reward. I'll take him.

I agree with this. Except I think a little higher of mason. Thomas and mason split time, ride the hot hand in the playoffs.

I'm with Awaz on this. If TT stinks no biggy if the price is right. I honestly believe that Mason will surprise he's been around long enough now he shouldn't lose his cool. Key is an improved D. I like Halak but would hate to lose Reed in doing so. He makes that 3rd line dangerous.

I would take Thomas or Nabakov. Halak is so injury prone so that move would be the most risky.

Yep good point probably more injury prone than TT. even still if they could get Halak without trading a guy like Reed no problem send them Mez and a pick would be awesome then of course I wouldn't have a problem at all. Poor Mez if only the guy could stay healthy!

I'm also hearing nabokov. Thoughts? He had a very good year but is he good enough if Mason fails?

If I were the Flyers I would just tryout Mason and get a reliable backup to relieve him once in a while.

I don't want any part of Nabby. He's just as much a headcase as Bryz was.

Put me down for Halak. I would think either Coburn, Mezz or Read and a 2nd or 3rd should do it. The Blues need forwards and dmen. Get it done Homer.

Yeah, I'd try to make the deal with Coby, Read and a 3rd. Then I'd put Mez on LTIR, since I believe he's still not medically cleared. That should give us more than enough cap space to fill out the rest of the roster.

Thomas is 39 coming off a season where he didnt play
He also has ALOT of baggage that could snowball in a market like Philly

I say we go after the younger Emery who was 17-1 last season with a GAA under 2

I think Ray's a good fit here if he beats out Mason then he'll have earned his starting role in the NHL. Would be nice to have him back.

I can understand the reservations on Thomas but the guy can play. He is a 100% upgrade from the Universe.

He gambles a bit much and depends on the defense to pick up his mistakes. I would not mind seeing him in Philly. I think it is a good fit.
