I'm not convinced that the situation has improved. If there is anything positive to gain from bringing in Ianetta and Clevenger, it is the hope that Zunino can salvage his career in Tacoma.

splits from the 2015 season
Ianetta:
vs right handed .172 BA/ 64 strikeouts in 198 at bats
vs left handed .230 BA/ 19 strikeouts in 74 at bats

Clevenger (career splits):
vs right handed .236 BA/ 68 strikeouts in 368 at bats
vs left handed .167 BA/ 8 strikeouts in 48 at bats

Zunino:
vs right handed .161 BA/ 96 strikeouts in 248 at bats
vs left handed .206 BA/ 36 strikeouts in 102 at bats

If the players hold true to these splits in 2016, we will probably see a lot more of Clevenger than we previously thought. Maybe something like 75 starts for Clevenger and 87 for Ianetta. Before seeing these splits, I thought it would be more like a 2-to-1 split.

I am not a fan of Iannetta and am not expecting much from him. I was surprised how much money Dipoto spent on a catcher that was coming off a bad season.

I'm sure there was a bidding war for his services.
