How many true freshman come into college football and be the best in a P5 conference? Maybe 3-4 in the last 15 years. I'll wait for nominations.
This. For most true freshman the name of the game is just trying not to hurt your team on a game by game basis. More of the game manager role while they’re catching up to the speed of the game. True freshman RB’s and WR’s have a much easier time stepping in and making a huge difference from day 1.

When they do it's on a team with ridiculous talent and a OC/QB coach that seriously know what they are doing. Not sure USC qualifies for the latter, but typically they do in the overall talent around them area.

I was kind of hoping for names.

And he has yet to take a snap in a game at the D1 level for the Trojans. Back shoulder fade he throws is a thing of beauty.
He has a shitlload of talent no doubt. With that said Washington is playoff bound at the end of this coming season which means the Huskies are going to pump SC like a cheap $20 crack h0 on Hollywood Blvd. if SC makes the PAC championship game.

Very good in HS, but he has to prove himself in college. Until he does, Jake Browning is the man.

Remember the last game Sark coached for SC? Pepperidge Farms does.

I remember the Huskies sucking for about 15 years but what does that have to do with two players who played against each other very recently?

Come on man. Hurts plays behind an NFL O line with NFL WRs and RBs and still couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. He's just not a passing QB he's a runner who can occasionally hit a wide open receiver.

Jalen's problem is more about reading defenses, not accuracy. He bails on plays too early because he's unable to see where a receiver is going to be open as a result of not being able to read defenses.

Describing his problems as being arm related is just false. He has a great arm and pretty good accuracy.
