It was in his contract so legal trouble for the Broncos. I don't really feel sorry for Knighton in the sense he has his contract and knows what the expectations are. Both years here in Denver he has come in out of shape to camp. His first year the coaches actually were about to cut him because he was so out of shape. Throw in then for this season he was voted a captain yet his example to the rest of the team was to show up out of shape. Not quite what you want your captain setting the example for the rest of the guys.
Now for me if Knighton can get himself into shape then yes I would love to see him back on the team. This past season though he could barely stay on the field for 50% of the snaps. In fact Malik Jackson a back up played more snaps for the season than him. Another reason I actually am one that would not mind us signing Suh if say Austin does become our coach is he plays something like 85% of their snaps on defense.
I do think Knighton could be going to Oakland. So far he has proven that he fits really well in a Del Rio type scheme but has failed in others. Heck he got benched while in Jacksonville and like I said barely made the cut in Denver for a little while.
Damn....cd I hadn't seen all those stats. You've got me backtracking a bit now, although I would like to see him back......I can see more clearly now why he wouldn't be a HUGE priority.
