Just read one of my favorite ball hawking safeties as a kid, Kwamie Lassiter former Cardinal passed away today from a heart attack at the age of 49. I will never forget his 4 int game vs the Chargers back in the late 90's and he lead the NFL in picks that year which is currently tied for an NFL record.

ugggh, that is awful news

I remember Kwamie, and I remember that games vs the Bolts .. 4 picks vs Craig Welihan

damn, that is sad, RIP

Jokic with his 20th triple double last night. Only three Centers in NBA history with that many - Wilt, Abdul Jabbar, and Jokic. And this is just his third season of being a starter. Of course the other two probably had double digits in blocks - and since Jokic can’t jump, that won’t be one of his doubles! :dhd:

@Draft Crazy - Juwann Winfree had a very nice catch at the all star game in CA. He is going to make some team a great value - if he is healthy.

I'm fully ready to duck flying tomatoes, but I don't understand the hate from Broncos fans towards the Pats ..

We've been the one team that has had the most success against them, and I've gotta be honest and say that it's been sort of fun as an NFL fan to be able to watch one of the greatest QBs ever - from the start of his career 'till now - and the run the team has had ...

I remember the first time the Broncos faced Brady in 2003, and we lost in the final 30 seconds .. I remember thinking "how the heck can we lose to NE with their second string QB ?" ... And all the great games in between then and now - the playoff game with Champ's int, the title game in which we hit Brady about 200 times -- these are great memories ..

I'd much rather go into a playoff game trying to beat Brady and Belichick then some perennial one-and-done act like Mariota or Watson or Ryan Tannehill ..

I can understand rooting against an AFC rival vs the Rams, but to root for KC over the Pats ?!?!?

Yeah, I don't like the Patriots but I hate the Chiefs because they are a long-standing division rival. Last night's game was perfect for me. Of course, I still want the Rams to win the big game in two weeks! I'm not sure that everyone hates the Patriots as much as everyone would just like to see a different team from time to time. Unless you're from New England, it's gotten pretty boring as an AFC fan.

I don't like them because of their arrogance.

Other than Kelce, most of the games over the past 10 years have been respectful. Pats cheat, they get calls, they're arrogant and smug about it. Chiefs have a fan base that loves their team in bad weather and good, and one of the loudest places to play even when they weren't making the playoffs. Pats fans are not that loud compared to either Denver or KC, and their Stadium is a damn mall with shopping, bars and restaurants.

How anyone can root for a team like the Pats over a real football team, community, and fans is beyond my understanding. Rivalry or not, at least they have my respect as a fan.

I suppose a lot of it could be personal experience

I've got a guy who comes into my shop, and before we ever talked NFL, we got along well - music, food, etc ... But when he found out I was a Broncos fan, every time he comes in now he's wearing all red, the jerseys, caps, he's got an excuse for every game KC has lost in the past 20 years, still talks about that Montana/Elway matchup in the 90s as a way for knocking Elway ..

He's really gotten under my skin, but because he is a customer, I've got to keep it light - all the while gritting my teeth because he is so ******** annoying ..

He's the only KC fan I know personally

But everything about that team, I cannot stand - the Eddie Kennison defection, the tomahawk chop, Harrison Butker's face, the dbag known as Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill punching his pregnant girlfriend, etc etc ..

There are a lot of Pats fans I know, but all are civil ... a tiny sampling, but again, that's who I know so that's all I can go by ..

It's really simple for me. They're a division rival. That doesn't mean I can't respect some of the talents on the team but as a Broncos fan, I was raised to hate the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers equally. I distribute my rival hate in a balanced fashion at least!

Of course I don't really hate the good people of Kansas City or any of the people in the Chiefs organization personally. It's just a game. I simply don't like the rival organizations that stand in the way of the Broncos goals twice a year, every year.
