It says that last year Sid was 15th in the NHL in drawing penalties. Tho to be fair, Dan Carcillo was even higher.

I'm starting to like Crosby again. He's matured, he's playing better, he got his own apartment - all good things. This wasn't even his fault, but mentally for me it brings him back a step.

Callahan got a two minute minor for interfering with Sid on this play:

Honestly, there should have been a penalty on both players. Callahan DID interfere with Crosby and impeded his progress when he didn't have the puck. That said, whether it was accidental or not (just like a high stick) a slew foot is a slew foot. It looked like it was more a puck battle that ended up badly for Callahan, but a lot of high sticks are accidents too.

Yeah, that was a bad dive, but it was well deserved. Maltby's a dirty, little prick who deserves everything that comes to him. Maltby always embellishes and does dirty shit after the play/whistle.

I think that Crosby has showed plenty a time that he can play with a chip (if you like him) or dirty (if you don't). He probably took that Messier leadership award a little too seriously.

I agree, the slew foot looked accidental due to the puck battle with Callahan. It should have been a penalty to both, Callahan for interference and Crosby for the (most likely accidental) slew foot.

When it comes down to it, bad calls happen. Good players get more bad calls in their favor because they put themselves in good positions. Players who have histories of "antics" get more bad calls against them because they have a reputation that causes officials -- right or wrong -- to assume the worst on plays involving them.

In summary, no big deal.

You're gonna need a better example than that slew foot tonight. To me, and maybe I'm being biased, that looked like two guys fighting for position and incidental slew foot because of that battle. Certainly shouldn't have been interference, but the Rags announcers were OBVIOUSLY focusing far too much time onto it. I mean, players of Sid's ilk are going to naturally garner more penalties because of their speed and ability to move with the puck, so the numbers aren't pretty...but this is also the guy who's taken more high sticks and cross checks in the corner than most guys in the league...it is what it is. I just don't get people who have conspiracy theories, it just bothers me because Sid works hard for his points, and it's insulting to the guy to claim they're handed to him.
