There were a plethera of weird calls tonight. At the end they got sid for an elbow that MAYBE reached Avery's chest, and a phantom call on a Rag for a trip. Can't say the Rags didn't get their chances tonight though...got plenty of calls when the game was most vulnerable.

I'm not gonna say that he doesn't get away with things...but I think that his status within the league merely puts a spotlight on him getting away with certain things...because it happens to a lot of players. Captains for the most part get away with more because if they're penalized refs will never hear the end of it all game.

You're gonna need a better example than that slew foot tonight. To me, and maybe I'm being biased, that looked like two guys fighting for position and incidental slew foot because of that battle. Certainly shouldn't have been interference, but the Rags announcers were OBVIOUSLY focusing far too much time onto it. I mean, players of Sid's ilk are going to naturally garner more penalties because of their speed and ability to move with the puck, so the numbers aren't pretty...but this is also the guy who's taken more high sticks and cross checks in the corner than most guys in the league...it is what it is. I just don't get people who have conspiracy theories, it just bothers me because Sid works hard for his points, and it's insulting to the guy to claim they're handed to him.
