About 1.7% of cfb players go pro, so all that spending doesnt benefit 98% of players at all beyond college. Which means counting it like it is a benefit to them, past the costs of their education, room and board is utter nonsense.

When assessing the ability of an athlete to be accepted to the university (any university) the question should be asked, does a 5ft 7in fat kid with the same grades and colleges test scores from the same high school get accepted.
No scholarship, just accepted. If the answer is no, then neither should the athlete be accepted. Acceptance into the university may be the fat kid's only chance in life. If that is the criteria for the athlete then the same should hold true for all.

It would hurt the quality of College Football but I would love to have an independent contractor test all scholarship student athletes for a standard minimum qualification.

Not sure what your point is here, they do have to meet minimum requirements.

Honestly, how is this the Universities faults? Sure, getting accepted to a University without the ability to even read is atrocious but this shows more on just how piss poor our public systems, and even private school systems, teach athletes.

Its pathetic.
