I don't think we've ever seen a situation where Rick wasn't the toughest guy in the room. Negan made sure to accomplish exactly that, made sure to put Rick in his place and definitely got his point across.

Maggie is gonna really hate Negan now

I'm curious to see how she will feel about Daryl. She forgave Tara for being on the Governor's side when he killed her father, but that was different. Her father would have died whether Tara was there or not. I'll be disappointed (but not really surprised) if there aren't at least some hard feelings there, even if only for a bit. She did seem quite willing to fight the Saviors despite the fact they have Daryl as a hostage. Not really sure if that means anything or not.

As the guy who usually defends the show runners, let me go against type. That was blood ****. Less is more. Even Tarantino knows this, as he cuts away from the strikes, and let's the audio and your imagination tell the story (or an extreme wide in Inglorious Basterds).

Did we set up Neegan as the new guy to hate on TV? Sure, but I say you could have done that without the caved in skulls.
