I couldn't get past cookie puss last nite. her shooting and whatnot was cracking me up. She was awful. Good riddance.

Pretty "meh" episode for a Midseason finale(whatever the fuck that is?:noidea:) Milking this shit for all it's worth.

Cookie Puss HAS to show up as a zombie in the next episode. Preferably chowing down on an unfortunate Alexandrian. How great would that be?

Anyway, watched part of the episode again today, and it really was "meh". And had some really stupid parts.

Like when the zombies are breaking down the door and Rick decides to have a short discussion with Carl on what Ron is up to.

Or when the zombies are breaking down the door and Rick decides to go see if he can quiet the baby and then have a quick little chat with Deanna before coming back downstairs to help stop the zombies.

Or when the zombies are breaking down the door and Ron asks Carl if he can excuse himself for a moment so they can speak privately.

Those pesky zombies! :pound::pound::pound:

Lets compare this to the previous mid-season finales...

S2 - Pretty Much Dead Already - This was a MONSTER episode. Sophia walking out of the barn was powerfully emotional. Moving forward, it "broke" Herschel and started Carol down her path of kick-assedness. No official deaths, but the confirmation of a major-ish death.

S3 - Made to Suffer - This was alright. Daryl and Merle are in the fighting pits against each other. No deaths. Meh.

S4 - Too Far Gone - Arguably the best episode of the show at the time. Action packed with two MAJOR deaths. 10/10

S5 - Coda - The finale of the Hospital arc. 1 major-ish death. Basically the last we see of Atlanta. Meh +

S6 - Start to Finish - Alexandria gets over-run by walkers. 1 major-ish death.

I would rate them in this order...

Too Far Gone
Pretty Much Dead Already
Coda
Start to Finish
Made To Suffer

For whatever it might be worth, on the S3 mid-season finale the governor lost his eye and his zombie daughter thanks to Michonne, making him even more crazy.

Good points. I have not seen that ep in a while, so I forgot what exactly was a part of it. Those aspects MIGHT put it above Start to Finish and MAYBE Coda...

I am slowly rewatching the series with my nephews (they are watching for he first time) and we just finished S2. I expect to finish S3 in the next month or so.

#'s 1 and 2 are without question. I go:

Too Far Gone
Pretty Much Dead Already
Made to Suffer
Coda
Start to Finish

Made to Suffer wasn't great, but for the reasons juliansteed has stated it gets a jump over the other two. I still miss the Gov.

I also just remembered that the Season 3 mid-season finale introduced us to Tyreese and Sasha. Usually those mid-season finales are about killing characters off or advancing the plot and not so much about introducing new characters but that might count for something as well.

Not with "I hate violence/I'll kick your ass!" Tyreese it doesn't, but Crazy Sasha is my babe! ;)

Really? That is big. I will definitely have to watch that ep again.

Do we include the Saviors introduction as part of this episode, or part of the next episode? I think that scene is supposed to be a preview of e9, so I dont think it counts. But that is a big event.

And BTW, that is not a spoiler. Kirkman confirmed they are the Saviors in TTD.

I was never a fan of TV-Tyreese, but he was a major character, none-the-less.

Another issue with Start to Finish...

Where is Heath? Come on, you gotta build him up.

Are they not building him because the actor has kinda blown up since he was cast?

If they build an arc around Heath, it'll be next year. Gotta finish cutting the deadwood first.

Yeah I kind of forgot about Heath since that confrontation with Michonne. It seemed like they were building him up to be more important. Also surprised we didn't see Spencer at all in this episode.

I'm thinking Glen goes after the Wolf when he finds out he took the doc. Might make some sort of reference to how well Judith's birth went without a doctor. Not sure if it will be a solo mission or someone else goes with him.

Oh and after watching this episode again, I found that music at the end to be way too cheezy to try to make that closing scene seem way more dramatic than it actually was.

I guess Tara would be the obvious choice to join him.

Tara and co. are trapped. The gun shots from Deanna (who's Deanna?!) might create an opening and draw some away, that also might give Jessie a chance to slap him silly for talking in the middle of a walker horde.

Yeah I don't think anything is going to happen until they get out of the current predicament and get a chance to regroup. Glen probably won't even know the doctor was taken until that happens. His focus in the meantime will likely be getting Maggie somewhere safe first.

When we get back from the break there is going to be a lot of carnage at least. Bye Jessie and her stupid children.

Also, Daryl or Abraham?? Whose getting Negan'd in the season finale??

Weird half season. Some really amazing episodes combined with a couple, two-tree episodes that really had me wondering why I watch this crap. A lot of bad writing and horrible acting. I do think it's jumped the shark.

"So are you saying I shouldn't count on that Emmy? Slinky? Slinky???"

View attachment 58878

Honestly, there was a shitload of it.

When Carl was talking to Ron it seemed like the director said, "just do your best Rick Grimes impersonation, you know, say shit like, 'look, I get it...'"

There was a bunch of writing that I questioned that I can't recall right now. I remember thinking I didn't like the show too much anymore during last season, so I was psyched when the first few episodes this season blew me away.

It just feels to me like the show is a prize fighter who's going down, but is still throwing some adrenaline punches. I think they should consider wrapping up the series soon, although I don't think they will until it's fully tarnished. C'est la vie.

That said, I want to see Alexandra Breckenridge buck naked (tits looked great on True Blood), so I'll keep watching the show. I know there's no nudity on AMC, but I'm hoping that God loves me enough to make it happen.
