Good question. I think the black quota is filled with Michonne, Heath and the other guy being the sole survivors through that jaunt in the woods, not to mention Morgan and Sasha.

Morgan knows some martial arts, so maybe that helps?

Just joking around, but after Noah died, Morgan came back and now the dred kid turned up too.

It is definitely a funny coincidental theme that showed up early in the show...

The prisoners are found and one of them is black and becomes basically a full-fledged member...

t-Dog dies.

Tyreese shows up...

Black Prisoner dies.

However, after this, that narrative really has not been accurate.

Bob
Gabriel
Noah
Heath
Steve (?? - Heath's partner)
We will meet another major black guy next season

AND, Michone and Sasha have been around since S3 without anyone going bonkers about it.

Haven't had a whole lot of time so I didn't read thru the last posts since the last episode. I seems to me that this eposide tonight is going to be a Morgan flash back starting from his insane days up until now with no word on Glen's status.

Any chance we will see a Morgan flashback involving the 'cheesemaker'?

Yeah, they dropped the ball with this episode. I understand that they have to use filler episodes to make the season stretch, but this really added nothing important to the story.

I think if I actually cared about Morgan this would have been more interesting. Maybe I missed it or just don't remember but have we ever found out what happened to Morgan's son?

Long, slow, and boring.

It seems the whole first half of the season is going to take place during 1 day. Silly.

Yes, in season 3 when Rick met up with him again. He told Rick that his zombie wife killed his son. I'm not sure if he came out and said it but it was strongly implied that he blamed himself since he was unable to kill his zombie wife.

It wasn't the best episode and probably the worst of the four this season but there's definitely been a lot worse than this episode in my opinion. There was some in season two that were beyond dull at Hershel's farm and the second half of season three where they tried to build up to a big fight between The Governor and Rick at the prison was mostly filler and that "fight" was a huge letdown and the worst season finale of the series in my opinion.

As for Morgan's son, I have no idea off the top of my head and just assumed he got bit and turned off screen sometime between when Rick left in the first episode and when they met again. Which as a result, is why we saw his insanity having already taken over the second time we see him and for a while during this episode.

After Morgan went into a basement to look for supplies, an undead Jenny approached Duane. As she approached, Duane couldn't bring himself to kill his mother. Morgan, returning from the basement, yells for him. As he turns towards his father, Jenny pounces and begins to bite Duane forcing Morgan to finally kill his undead wife. Duane died from his injuries and turned. It is unknown if Morgan killed him after he turned or if he let him roam off as in the comics.

Thanks voice of reason. Did you just use the word unrealistic to try and prove a point about a show that's about flesh eating zombies?

I do not want or need the show to always be about zombie attacks and there does not need to be non stop violence but to devote an entire 90 minutes to show us how a side character learned to use a stick is a complete waste of time for me. It almost felt like the producers were like ya know we could just run 90 minutes of a monkey playing the banjo and they are going to watch it.

Haha, judging from some of the posts, I must be living in Bizarro World.

Great story, great episode. :thumb:

If the episode was not in the middle of a whole lot of things happening I may have liked it more. It was certainly well acted. I just do not think Morgan is a strong enough character to have an entire show devoted to him, much less a long episode. Honestly I do not think character development is a strong suit of the show show so I do not really think any of the shows characters should have a show solely dealing with them.

Eastman was more interesting than Morgan and knowing that he was going to die didn't help the episode.
