If you look in the background of that same picture, there was a fire escape they could have climbed up and gotten on top of the roof. Put me on a rooftop with a pointy stick and I can repel zombie hordes forever.
That would have led perfectly into the comics as well.

If Nicholas' guts got all over Glen while they were feeding on him, that couldn't do the trick could it? I don't think enough could have gotten on him and also he was freshly deceased. I think they need to turn for it to have that affect, correct?

Hmmm...

Interesting thought.

I have always been of the belief that zombies are more about the drive to feed, not the actual need to feed. They don't have any digestive system anyway. So if they are feeding on Nicholas and Glenn gets covered with his innards, any tiny distraction could get them to ignore him.

Maybe a thrown egg timer could distract the herd...

The blood and guts of other zombies would potentially cause the herd to ignore him but fresh blood would only draw them in even more.

The first thing I saw when they were running down the alley was the fire stairs but they were still looking to climb the fence. Then they saw the walkers on the other side of the fence and it was potentially too late to retreat. But they should have at least gave it a shot.

sounds like three weeks to find out. Next week looked like it was going into the past, then the week after would be alexandrias turn before they get back to the rick and glen story.

Yeah, saw that too... Even when they committed to the fence I was thinking if they used their remaining bullets to thin out the left side of the alley to get back to the fire escape they could make it..

This has all the makings of a setup by Gimple and Co., and judging by the reaction of the average viewers (and also going by my friends who are fans, but not crazy-into-it fans like we are), they are pulling it off.

My biggest red flag? As hard as they tried to make it seem so on Talking Dead, this was simply an unbecoming death scene for such an integral character as Glenn. I just don't buy it.

And yeah, I agree with you guys about the fire escape. First thing I saw as well.

Finally watched it. WTF!?

First off, was there another shooter on the grassy knoll during that suicide scene? Some funky physics going on in that suicide and subsequent falling??

If that is ultimately Glenn's demise, it is an incredibly lame way for him to go. Besides the obvious fire escape and fence to the right that they could've bailed over. Why would they wait till the last second to think..."Hey' let's get to higher fucking ground!"

Also the two walkers that outed Michonne and them were the two noisiest walkers of all time.

What does this say about Negan's character in the future, and do any of you think that Rick's hand-injury could lead to amputation like in the books? They prolly have the money now, to pull it off.

I dont know about their money situation, we thought we might see the herd once, its usually just a dozen or so per episode and I didnt think they filmed that far in advance to have shot that all in one day. I am sure the ones in the back dont have to have great makeup, but its still alot of people.

He loses his hand early in the comics. They have stated that they didn't do it in the shows because of the budget and it being too much to go back and digitally edit it out of every scene. Now that it's such a hit, maybe they can afford it?

I think Glen could survive if the Walkers haven't got to him yet and someone tries to distract the horde or something. I'm with Comeds though it will most likely be goofy. They could just wait until a later date to get Glen to come back out of the blue. He did say "I'll find some way to let you know I'm alive." A lot of different ways they can take this, death being one of them.

The writers definitely want you to think he's dead though, he used 'dumbass' and looked at Hershel's watch for the first time ever.

I don't understand all this talk about shoestring budgets and whatnot.

Isn't it the most watched program in the history of cable television? Also, it captures the very hard-to-nail-down male 18-35 demographic. If TWD doesn't have a sizeable budget to work with, someone's getting fucked.

Well, it was certainly goofy the way it went down so far.

TV is outrageously expensive already. Adding in render times for top notch special FX? Nope. Not going to happen. Or if it is, it's 'pick your spots', and do it a few times only. Thus with Hershel, they started out with some green screen, and then after shot it with camera angles only.

How long have you worked in television production?

I noticed the blood splatter and the direction of the fall as well. But again, this is a show about dead people walking around eating people.

I was surprised they did not clear the pet store first thing. That is pretty stupid at this point in the ZA.

This is about the time Abraham dies in the comics, but we know he lives until at least the second half because of photos of him and Paul (and Kirkman has continually said that he did not like the way Abraham died in the books). They HAVE to have Negan kill a fan fave, so I can see him take out Abraham instead. That would hurt the group because they lose their top military strategist and will hurt the fans of the show because we will not get anymore "Mother Dick" or "Dolphin Smooth"

Cheap is cheap. And Darabont was first to get fucked. I guess he made out alright money-wise...wonder how much he gets paid for those opening credits?
