Ok, I've got a crazy theory here:

Daryl's got the new show coming up. He ain't gonna have time to play with the zombies. Seems logical to me that he's gonna be removed from the show.

However...he is, by far, the show's most popular character and I'm guessing the most profitable in marketing (toys and such). I don't think AMC can kill him off.

So here's my scenario: Carol goes off on a mission. Gets into some kinda trouble. Daryl and the gang get wind of it and towards the end of the season he goes off into the sunset in search of her. A little far-fetched? Maybe, but consider: this way, AMC gives Reedus the time he needs for his cross-country biker show while also finding out whether or not it will be successful.

Gives everyone involved options and also gives the fans hope.

Now, it could be a totally different scenario with the same idea, but I think you can catch my drift.

Whatta ya'll think, am I way off base here?:crazy::scratch:
So, instead of killing one of your top characters, you propose they remove two of the top characters?

As I posted, it could be a totally different scenario - I just used Carol as an example. My focus was more on how Daryl would be removed from the show. And they just might go ahead and kill him. I've seen some pretty good evidence (even re-watched the episode to confirm it) that it's being set up that way.

In any event, I don't see how it's possible that he remains on the show on a full time basis.

They may very well kill him off, and I would not be too broken up about it. I like him, but I believe he is over-rated.

I actually believe that Abe will be done by the end of the season. Probably in the finale.

I think they follow the comics pretty closely here for a few episodes.

My prediction is we're probably losing 2 minor main cast members. Smart money is on Tara then I think maybe Denise/Rosita.

And at least 1 main(maybe 2 if only 1 minor cast). In this I think it's Glenn, Daryl, Abe and maybe Maggie(that would be a lot of chicks) that are most at risk. I think one of these 4 is gonna get the Negan message.

I think this half season is setting up great. Last nights episode moved the plot perfectly.

Oh, I totally agree about Abe, I think he's done. Better squirt some Bisquick while he can.

Have you heard about this one? And I checked, while it's open for discussion, there is definitely some merit to it.

Abe will NOT be killed by Dwight. Kirkman said, almost from the time it happened, that he did not like the way that went down. He did it just because he needed a way to introduce Dwight. Well, they already did that in the show, so there is no reason to make the same mistake twice. Abe taking Glenn's spot in the lineup makes sense. It surprises the comic readers while still SERIOUSLY hurting the main group. Glenn is a great character, but not that vital strategically.

I am in the camp of that being a production error, personally. It is sooo far in the background and isnt even clear what it is/was.

And for the record, I dont think that is a spoiler. It was seen from the show and is not a direct reference to a comic occurrence.

"He killed one of our guys right off the bat"

Bud also mentioned this in the mid season premiere, right before he blew up. When he was pointing him gun at Abraham, he said "usually we introduce ourselves by popping one of you right of the bat"

It's possible, but it could be a car...you never know. :)

As to what or what isn't a spoiler, yeah I guess...and Daryl isn't in the comic anyway.

And btw, I hate the way they pronounce Negan. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I admittedly need to go back and re-read the comics, but I was referring mostly to Glenn and Maggie's arc.

When I first read his name, I read it a NAY-gan, instead of the NEE-gan as it really is. But I heard it pronounced NEE-gan so often on YouTube that I changed the way I read it a long time ago.

Did that "Thank You" guy actually use the term "Off the bat"?

Megan Fox disagrees with this as well. Whatever she says, I'm on board.

Speaking of that guy (the leader of the Negan group in ep 9), he did such a fantastic job with that minor roll. He will certainly get more work. I cannot remember a more impactful, well-acted 5-minute spot in TWD history.

I think Daryl is screwed
nailed
No I don't think so, Norman's reality show was filmed during the hiatus of The Walking Dead according to Entertainment Weekly. So it sounds like he might be returning for seven.
