I can't wait to see all the LOSUR fans crying out loud once they get their sentence handed down.

Well technically Bo got his raise at the beginning of April. It was just found out about right before this so it is a complete coincidence.

"Never once did coach ask me about anything involving that stuff," Hall said. "I think coach is a saint and did what he thought was best to take care of the kids."

Oh come on. How could you even question Tressel? He is a saint. And he wears a sweatervest.

"The allegation that Tressel lied to the NCAA is significant. Since 2006, the NCAA has sanctioned 28 schools for violating the ethics bylaw that Tressel did. Of the 13 head coaches involved, only one kept her job. The others either resigned or were fired by their schools."

I remember reading that line in a different article back in March already.........it is possible that Tom Osborne could see what was coming.

Maybe Osborne received some inside information sometime before early April?

I used to think Bo would be in the top 3 for Ohio St but I don't think that any more.

At the same time, does anyone really think that any amount of money would keep Bo here over Ohio St if he really wanted to go back home?

I think Bo wants to be a :charlie: and he has a better chance in Lincoln than Columbus no matter what sanctions are handed to OSU.

So are you saying he has a better chance of being a self centered egomaniac that thinks he controls the universe in Lincoln than in Columbus? That is weird.

Funny this thread. Remember 2007? Okay, granted, it was a waaay different situation. But do you remember the summer of 2007? After a long offseason of Kool-Aid talk, we all convinced ourselves that things were starting to look up. Some fans were worried that once NU was back on track Callahan would bolt for greener pastures. So we gave him a BIG FAT pay raise. And we all know how that worked out.

After that debacle I no longer worry too much about whether a coach stays or bolts. Nebraska is a pretty good place to coach. If we’re winning, that is. Don’t get me wrong, I’d hate to lose Pelini. But if he bails on us—well, I’m sure we’ll find someone else to take the job.

^^^^ Fact^^^^

But I do not think we have any worries for the foreseeable future as long as he can get our team back to where it once was. :lm:

I hope you're right. (And I think you are.) Even though we wouldn't have much problem filling the position. It's just so damn painful to go through a coaching change.

Can't say the "we all convinced ourselves that things were starting to look up" with Billy C. I never once thought the Billy C train was going stay on the tracks.

Also about Osborne doing this because of Miami or potentially Ohio St. The buyout is only $250,000 so that is not going to deter anyone from coming after him. If other schools was a factor then the buyout would be much bigger.
