Most Fan Cams suck. I will have better names. Most are very artificial reasons to create excitement.

Just to make sure you know, I’m talking about halftime contests, commercial breaks, timeouts, mascots, etc.

Thanks. To me, there isn't much of a difference between a halftime contest, and a 2nd quarter mid quarter break.

Yes, I thought the thread would be good for all fan oriented entertainment.

i thought it would be funny to have 17 comments clarifying what I meant. Just consider this the 17th one. ;)

Baby crawl: Several babies go the wrong way.

One mom holds up a rubber ducky, to try and guide the the baby to come to the finish line.

The stream goes back to the studio broadcast just as the baby race countdown is at 5 seconds.

Darn, I wanted to see who won.

Every timeout seems to involves babies.

Baby crawl. Happy cam (or whatever it was called). Baby cam with Baby Shark being played.

Shooting contest:

A contestant gets two shots at 3 different sized hoops.

Short height hoop, medium, regular.

Start with the shortest.

If they decide to continue to the next hoop, they risk all of their prize money.

Constant makes the short one on the first try.

Medium one on the 2nd try.

Tries for the regular hoop. Misses both attempts.

I would have stopped at the medium one. And taken the $150 gift card. Assuming I would have made the short one, which is no guarantee.

To clarify, the difference between the medium prize and top prize was $150 and $300.

You had to risk the medium in its entirety, if you went for the top prize.

If the difference was $150 and $600, maybe I try for the top. But with only two attempts to make the shot, maybe not.

Not that the money of making one is not important, but the value to me would be the experience of being there and trying to make it for the second one. So I think I would go for it and miss for the opportunity to make it.

That is a good point. It's likely a once a lifetime opportunity to shoot for these prizes. I guess go for each level of prize that you qualify for.

So, if I'm in this situation, I will go to the microphone and say "@MHSL82 told me the experience of playing for the highest prize possible is worth it, so I'm going to try."

Hopefully if I get the top prize, @MHSL82 will run onto the court and say @nuraman00 is the greatest prize contestant in sports.

When I was in 3rd or 4th grade, I ran around the basketball hoop poll, went near or at the 3 point line, turned, and took a shot. It went in.

For the next few minutes, everyone tried to copy that move, even providing their own play by play.

I have never in my life again made a shot again where I dribbled that kind of distance, ran, stopped, turned, and shot.

I guess they weren't calling out of bounds, or maybe someone passed me the ball instead. But kids of that age rarely pass, as they don't really see the right opportunities like more experienced older kids do.

I think I might miss the short hoop. Which was 4 or 5 feet. I feel like I'd shoot it too hard. Or just do something to miss.

When something looks too easy, it becomes hard. As opposed to being regular easy.

Could they shoot it in the reverse order?

No, I think you had to shoot the shortest one first, and only if you made the shot within two attempts, could you move onto the medium height hoop.

Carmax Row Race:

Within a section, 3 rows have different shaped cars on signs. Each row has to pass the vehicle to the end of the row, and back.

Whichever row is done first, wins.

The prize is a T shirt.

This is a cool contest. I like the fan interaction.

However, the prize sucks. A T shirt? Probably with a Carmax logo on it?

The prize should be a priority test drive on an in demand car, or a 3% discount on a car, or some fees waived, or something.

@MHSL82, can you copy this to the fan cam thread?

Here's also additional commentary:

I was kind of hoping the PA was going to get the ball unstuck, so the contestant could resume shooting.

Nothing happened, so the opposing contestant got unpressured FT line area or so attempts, until he made one.

Some of the pressure could have come if both contestants were attempting shots, at the same time. Because it was the first to make the next shot, to determine the winner.

Droppin' Dimes:

Wes had to guess where the America's First logo was, between 3 coins.

He guessed correctly, got $250.

He then had an opportunity to risk winning $500 or nothing.

He tried for round 2.

It was harder and the coins spun faster.

He guessed correctly.

The game host called him "Wes Welker" for winning. Welker was a former NFL player.

Shoot, Soar, and Score:

Tomas has 24 seconds to make as many FTs as possible.

He makes one.

He then gets to pick one mystery suitcase which contains a prize. He picks # 8.

He wins luggage.

I guess the next time I see this game, I'll see either what some of the other prizes were, or if the contestant gets to pick multiple suitcases if he makes multiple FTs.

Tomas is seemingly a high school kid.

Two contestants have 24 seconds to make as many FTs as they can.

Contestant # 1 makes 4.

Contestant # 2 shoots them underhanded . . . and makes 2.

Darn it contestant # 2! I was rooting for you, especially when the PA said he was shooting them "granny style".
