He got beat out by a second year player plus he will be an unrestricted free agent next yearSo, what happened
I always thought bad teams had the leverage when it came to released players. Future Miami Dolphin or something like thatWhat are the odds he ends up in Arizona?
Mercilus may be past his prime, but he can still help a contending team as a pass rushing specialist. We don’t think he’ll be out of work long. So, what happened

Green Bay probably does make the most sense. KC does need production on the dline but Im not sure it would be clear that Merciless would emerge as the starter. Chris Jones, in theory, will be playing on the edge some still and Frank Clark is paid a ton of money. Packers are also likely uncontested in their division.I would think that Golden and Jones and them being pegged to be on the field in passing situations would mean that Merciless would go elsewhere.
Places like Green Bay or KC offer way more opportunity and equal title hopes.

He is probably pretty busy considering he is the GM and QB of the Packers on top of hosting Jeopardy and owning the Chicago BearsI have seen no comment yet from GM Aaron Rodgers if Packers will be pursuing Merciless

Mercilus, who was released by the Texans on Tuesday after spending 10 seasons with that franchise, turned down more money elsewhere to join Green Bay's defense, the source said.
Hoping Seattle would have made a move but I guess our non pass rush is exceptable.Well appears GM Aaron Rodgers had some time on his hands after all.
Pass-rusher Whitney Mercilus to sign with Green Bay Packers
Really starting to feel like a "last dance" for Rodgers going all in when they can and looking at 2022 cap situation. Unfortunately NFC looks very strong at top this year.
Now, now! You've already had your AFC South FA acquisition for the day.Hoping Seattle would have made a move but I guess our non pass rush is exceptable.
"He's played his entire career with the Texans"
One of the saddest stories I have heard
I'm seeing now reports the Texans are going to trade Mark Ingram back to the Saints.
