The Season So Far-week –Week 7

1st 4: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame

2nd 4: LSU, Michigan, Georgia, Florida,

3rd 4: Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, UCF

Analysis: Alabama is far and away number 1. Michigan is on the rise and has the potential to go a long way. Florida and Texas are still in the picture for a high rating. UCF is leader for NY Day bowl game.

Playoff teams: Alabama, Ohio St, Notre Dame, Clemson.

Analysis: Alabama could afford a loss and still make the playoffs. The other 3 teams will be favored in their remaining games. Ohio State-Michigan looks most like a playoff berth on line. An LSU win over Alabama could lead to 2 SEC teams in the playoffs.

Most surprising: LSU, Michigan, Florida, and Texas

Analysis: All 4 teams are in the top 10. Michigan seems to be best positioned to make the playoffs. Texas is a total surprise, but Oklahoma may be the best bet for a playoff berth.

Most disappointing: Nebraska, Arkansas, UCLA

Analysis: Nebraska still doesn’t have a win, and 2 wins appears to be the most. Arkansas continued losing but at least came close last week. UCLA finally won, but appears to be just playing out the season.

Heisman Trophy: Tua Tagovailoa, , Dwayne Haskins, Kyler Murray.

Analysis: Just 3 names this week, since no one is close to any of them. If Alabama wins out, then Tagovailoa is an easy winner. Haskins has looked good almost every week and the same with Murray. Any of the 3 could still win, but Tagovailoa is the clear favorite.

Big 3 Games of the Week: Clemson-N Carolina St, Michigan-Michigan St, Colorado-Washington

Analysis: Clemson-NC State is a battle of the unbeaten. NC State could snare a playoff spot if they could run the rest of the table. Clemson is a big favorite. Michigan has had a very difficult time defeating it’s in-state rival. PAC 10 in trouble again for the playoffs, but the winner is still alive. Picks: Clemson 34-21, Michigan 38-17, and Washington 24-20.

Big games in the regular season: Oklahoma-West Virginia, Texas-West Virginia, Alabama-LSU, Florida-Georgia, Michigan-Ohio State,

Analysis: Any Big 12 berth could be decided by the 2 West Virginia games against Texas and Oklahoma. Alabama-LSU is the only hope for LSU to make the playoff. Florida-Georgia will also be competing for a chance to win a playoff spot. Michigan and Ohio State look like a lock for the winner unless Notre Dame runs the table and the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoffs. Clemson needs an undefeated season to stand a chance.
