Top Tier: Alabama, Oregon
2nd Tier: Ohio State, Clemson, Stanford, Florida St
3rd Tier: Georgia, Texas AM, LSU, Oklahoma
Analysis: These are teams I think have a chance to play in the nc game. Oklahoma's path was made easier with the loss by Okie St. Is Baylor the 2nd best in Big 12. SEC still has multiple contenders. LSU would have to beat Alabama, AM, and likely Georgia in the SEC championship. Tall order. Oregon and Stanford looks like a cinch for one of the 2 berth. Ohio State, Clemson, and Florida State have a chance.
Biggest Surprises: Miami, Northwestern, Maryland, Washington
Biggest Disappointments: Texas, USC, Boise State, North Carolina
Heisman Trophy: Johnny Manziel, Marcus Mariotta, Teddy Bridgewater, Tahj Boyd, Aaron Murray.
Analysis: It's a QB race. Bridgewater might be hurt by not playing enough quality opponents. Manziel keeps making impossible throws. Aaron Murray could be the player on the rise.
