The Return of the Nordiques?

With all the Seattle buzz lately, Quebec City chatter has been fairly quiet... But I can tell you this the NHL is in talks with Quebecor, who wants to bring a team back to QC, and is building their new arena, operational Sept 2015.A deal is far from done, but return of the Nordiques is going to happen. Just a matter of when. Quebecor's goal is obviously 2015-16 season.NHL has zero plans to relocate any of its franchises... If/when Quebec City (and/or Seattle) gets a team, it's by way of expansion. For those asking... NHL can worry about conference realignment/parity after they cash in the big expansion fee cheques. Not a big concern.

Discuss. Think it will be good for the city to have a team again.

Relocation of a western team to Quebec is what will happen.

Bettman's plan is to have all 30 teams in the Eastern Conference by 2019. He figures this is the only way to increase parity and slow the dominance of the Western Conference.

Jep...Quebec deserves it, more canadian clubs should be added to balance things out.

If they are going to expand, it needs to be two teams and they need to put both in the west. Unbalanced conferences is a bad idea.

If Quebec wants a team, they need to take an existing East team.

It was pretty apparent when the league went to the unbalanced conferences. The question now is, if the expansion teams really are going to be Seattle and Quebec City, which EC team gets moved to the Western Conference?
